Interhill Group makes private contribution of RM 100,000 to PERYATIM Sarawak

Interhill Group has today made a private donation of RM100,000 to the Sarawak Orphans Welfare Organisation (PERYATIM). The cheque was presented by Group Managing Director, Datuk Hii Chang Pee together with Group Executive Director, Datin Lau Ngok Yung, to PERYATIM chairman, Datuk Daud Abdul Rahman and was witnessed by the Sarawak Chief Minister, YAB Pehin Sri Abdul Taib Mahmud.
At present PERYATIM Sarawak has one complex in Kuching and another in Miri to shelter its 270 residents. Its third complex in Sibu is still under construction and is expected to be completed by April next year to accommodate another 300 orphans. Apart from providing shelter, the complexes also provide educational facilities such as rooms for seminar and tuition classes.
As a non-governmental organization, PERYATIM Sarawak is dependent upon public contributions to look after the well-being of its orphans.
It is Interhill Group's hope that its contribution can provide PERYATIM with the resources it requires to continue to provide its orphans with bigger, brighter and more promising opportunities. Interhill Group continues to support the mission of PERYATIM in seeking to provide full educational opportunities to its orphans, so that they may build an independent, stable and bright future for themselves.
PERYATIM Sarawak produces one of the highest numbers of graduates amongst other orphanages in Malaysia.
